Meet Our Instructor

In 1986 Design For Health Training Center began to present the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency AHERA training programs. We have developed and presented OSHA training to meet the diverse needs of our client base. Our instructors have many years of environmental, hazardous materials, and construction safety experience.

Jorge A. Valdez

Is a San Diego native and United States Armed Force Veteran with a background in Healthcare Engineering, Occupational Injury and Illness, General and Construction Safety. This led to his seamless transition into the classroom setting where he facilitates Asbestos, Lead, and Occupational Safety training. With over twenty years of field experience managing and mitigating occupational hazards associated with workplace asbestos, lead, mold, indoor air quality, hazardous materials, fire safety, life safety, and general and construction safety, Jorge brings a real-world approach to the classroom. This is reflected in the presentation of the course material in a manner consistent with regulatory requirements and industry best practices. His time in the field has afforded him the opportunity to work closely with various federal, state, and local regulatory agencies resulting in a training experience that is beneficial for the each professional that will engage and comply with the governing agencies. His approach to the curriculum is designed to empower each student with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully accomplish the tasks of a competent person or worker. His priority is fostering a training environment strategically aligned with the regulations of the industry and preparing each individual for their professional development.
